Operation Theatre Technology

Introduction

The Operation Theatre Technology program at Edu Hub Medical College Pakistan is designed to train students in the essential skills needed to support surgical teams and maintain a safe, efficient operating environment. This program covers the preparation, sterilization, and management of surgical instruments, as well as providing hands-on assistance to surgeons, anesthetists, and operating theatre nurses during surgical procedures. Graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and practical experience required to handle sensitive surgical environments, ensuring patient safety and the success of medical operations.

Graduates of the Operation Theatre Technology program will be able to:

  • Apply aseptic techniques, including sterilization and decontamination, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the operating theatre environment.
  • Maintain and handle surgical instruments and equipment, selecting the appropriate tools for specific procedures.
  • Prepare and organize surgical trolleys according to detailed checklists, ensuring all necessary instruments are available for each operation.
  • Regularly check and maintain equipment for accuracy, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
  • Assist the surgical team, including the surgeon, anesthetist, and OT nurse, during procedures, ensuring smooth operations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum Qualification: Matric with Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) – 2nd Division (unadjusted) and combined total of science subjects not less than 45%.
  • Age: Maximum 35 years on the last date of applying for admission (both for Government/ Private candidate.
